PostSubject: Drown Your Troubles [TAG: Dean]   Fri Jun 20, 2014 3:20 pm

Helga downed the last of her drink, and nudged the glass closer to server as she motioned for another shot. It'd been a very long day; one call after another of murders and break-ins and assaults. Lyle did his best to spread out officers to keep any single cop from breaking down out of exhaustion, but there was little to be done. There was always something going on, and the cops couldn't always get there in time. The first thing she did after clocking out was head straight for the club. She didn't particularly care for the entertainment or the looks people were giving her, mostly the male patrons. She was just here to forget her troubles for a moment, not add to them.

Dean boredly watched the fuming woman stare hatefully at him, her face red in anger and trembling in furry. He wasn't surprised at all when she splashed the rest of drink at him, and let out another cry of frustration when he ahd easily stepped aside and smashed the glass down on the counter, before storming off into the crowd. He rolled his eyes, ignoring what some other bartender commented on and kept on with cleaning the glass he was currently holding.
It was yet another typical workday for him, and everyone else who usually came here was just as used to this as he was. It was some of the usual that had happened, some spoiled woman flirts with him, and he flat out told them NO, with his own words. At least this one didn't cry when blunty told her he found her appealing, and that her perfume made him want to puke. He surely said something else too.... Not like it matters.

He distinctly heard some of the customers comment about the 'hard-to-get-blonde', shortly followed by some fo his co-workers calling her a bombshell blonde or whatever...
He glanced down at the glass that nudged to him, and then at the woman where obviously the one being talked about, as she motioned for another shot. Wordlessly he placed the glass back in it's place and re-filled her glass.
The men checking her out really couldn't be more obvious, unlike him who didn't bother to spare her another glance.

Helga scrunched her nose at the woman as she retreated into the crowd. "Crazy broad." Then she looked up at the man who'd been her target and added, "Thanks." for her drink. She lifted the glass to her red lips, enjoying the burn of liquor. Some people just needed to learn how to handle rejection. It wasn't like the guy was obligated to respond to her advances. No one was. She herself was trying her best to ignore the whispers around her, and just sip quietly on her drink. More than once already she'd been called 'icy bitch' for shutting someone down. Whatever. As long as the booze kept flowing she would be alright.

"Apparently you're well acquainted with that type," Dean muttered offhandedly, giving the men who neither couldn't take a fuckign hint. Really, it almost hurt to watch them... When of them guys in question for soem reason noticed him glance their way, he appearntly took it as a challenge. "Watcha ya looking at?" he hissed, trying to look intimidating. Dean however, found him a waste of space and breathe, and simply gave him the finger, not even bothering to look at him and went back to taking more orders and wordlessly refilling more drinks.

Helga looked over her shoulder when she noticed the bartender looking somewhere. When she looked back she caught the gesture and laughed. She could hear the other man cursing at him, and simply gave him a double dose, not even bothering to look back at him as she did it. Hopefully the man would get fed up with the both of them and take a long walk off a pier at the docks.

"Yeah, it happens sometimes." she said, taking another swig of her drink. "They think 'no' means 'yes' and 'get lost' means 'take me, I'm yours'."

That guy was obviously new here, Dean thought boredly to himself as he caught one of the man's friend holding him back, telling him it wasn't worth it whatever he had planned on doing. Surely to walk over to him and threaten him, and then try and punch his face in.
Huh. Since when did this stuff become a routine?
"Sadly, that's most men for you," he commented flatley, quickly forgetting about the small group. "And women too," he added with a slight annoyed grimace. "The more you're denied something you want, the more appealing it gets, for whatever fucked up reason."

Helga ignored the ramblings of the man behind them. "'The lure of the Forbidden Fruit', or something." she shrugged and rolled her eyes. "Frankly, I don't see the appeal." Why chase after something you'd never have? Better to find something you could, whatever that was. But this was Attica, and hardly anyone had common sense or intelligence.

"Is this how things usually are?" she asked.

Dean merely gave a hum as Helga mentioned something about 'the Forbidden Fruit' or something, only half paying attention. That was more than he usually did when someone tried having a conversation with him.
It was easier to listen to this woman however, since she seems to suffer through the same shit with unwanted attention, like him. And thank god she appeard to use the brain she had, unlike the rest here.
"It's actually quite peaceful today, compared to how it usually is," he sighed, knowing it all would break out into familiar chaos sooner or later. "You're the one bringing in all those troublemakers for this night," he added flatly.

Helga quirked a brow at his comments, staring at him over the rim of her glass. She supposed that for a bar in Attica, it would be peaceful. But it was hard to tell if his last comment was a joke or insult. He had a pretty good poker face, she had to admit. Usually she could read people with only a little effort. She supposed he had to, being around characters like these day in and day out.

"Not like I ask for it." she huffed, setting her glass down. "I can't help that idiots exist."

"Maybe by putting a bullet through their heads," Dean muttered dryly, back to fully focusing on his boring job, and ignoring the many obnoxious people shouting and naggin about more to drink. With his indifferent attitude and flat tone whenever he opened his mouth, it was usually hard to tell when he was being sarcastic or not. Obviously, he hadn't been serious with what he just said, though he would honestly eb tempted to shut some of those idiots up permanently. Maybe by sewing their mouths shut, he would know how to do that.

"Believe me, I am so very tempted to do that." Helga muttered. She actually had, more times than she could count. But they were usually criminals and trying to kill her, so she never got in (too much) trouble for those. Others were witnesses to Duster crimes that wouldn't shut up. "But then I'd have to deal with their friends getting pissy about it. Not drunk enough for that."

Dean actually chuckled at that, re-filling her glass casually. "I share the same dilemma," he muttered with a heavy sigh, deciding to ignore some familiar customers demanding not only something to drink but more attention than they deserved or that he could ever bother waste his time with.
